BACKGROUND
Digital Poster Art was started in 2003 by James Couvutsakis.
Digital Poster Art grew out of computers, fine art,
photography, and digital printing technology.
A giclée print is a computer-based process, which
digitizes an image and outputs the image on a high resolution,
wide-format inkjet printer. It is an expensive process both in equipment
and materials. Digital Poster Art can print images up
to 48 inches wide with high resolution. The printer utilizes an 8-color
pigment process, which can accurately
reproduce almost the entire PANTONE color spectrum.
Time, money, and research was spent to build a
state-of-the-art system to accurately reproduce paintings and artistic
images for above average presence and long lasting quality. Images
are printed on high quality cotton fiber paper or archival canvas. Pigment inks are fade
resistant. The image is moisture-resistant and requires no lamination.
The only focus of Digital Poster Art is high quality art reproduction as
a service to contemporary artists, archival artwork for museums and galleries.
Reproductions are made using finest quality pigment inks and cotton
fiber fine art paper.
A Technical Writer and Desktop Publisher, with a
life-long background of over thirty years in photography, James
Couvutsakis photographs have been published several times. Turning to video production, his documentary THE
EAST KINGDOM was seen locally on PBS (channel 17) in 1986.
Several other documentaries made it to Buffalo Public Access
cablecasts including
ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMMING.
